Whoa, Victor, I spent a few days in this very same world in 1969 .... mescaline, I believe it was, or possibly psilocybin. I recognize every disjointed thought. Scary but fascinating. I wasn't sure I would ever get back. Today the line that resonates most with me is : " ... all weight is voluntary." Ain't that the truth. Marvellous piece!

Yep, been there... back in the day ... :) Thanks for hanging in there, Sharron. And yes indeed, the weight is voluntary. I think there's a song called The Weight. ?? The Band? (not sure).

Thanks again!

You draw the line, Victor. Mystically wonderful.

Thank you Igga. Appreciate the comment! I think we're on similar trajectories...

"all weight is voluntary" - I copied that line, and now see Sharron referenced it too. You should patent it. In any event, whether or not you make it to the patent office, I'm subscribing to the Victor D. Sandiego Madmen Stories. This is an auspicious beginning!

Okay, I'm on my way to the patent office where they'll surely laugh at me and tell me to go have a coffee and forget about it, which is fine because I like coffee, but in any event, weight is voluntary and I try to remember that, too. Many thanks for reading and commenting, Mike!

A surprise found in every sentence. So many gems. Envy rises and mixes with the steam of my early morning coffee. "mash and grab! take the loot", says my Inner Thief. "but leave a thank you note", he quips.

Thank you for the thank-you note, Elva. Very nice to hear from you. I too am with my morning coffee. And if you find loot here, all the better. Much appreciated!

Many truths in this one, but I liked this the best: "A great vine of fruitful days. Pluck them. The weight of the world slides away if you let it. Life is more than death at the tomb door knocking." At times, this piece read as a prose poem, at others like Lao-tsu in the Tao Te Ching. Fascinating!

Thank you, K.C. I'm glad you enjoyed it and appreciate your lovely comment. I've got a bent toward Taoism, although I haven't read the Tao Te Ching, but you've got me curious and now I'm going to check it out. Thanks again!

I need to read this seven more times. Madmen do these things. Crazy good, Victor David.

Thank you, James. I love the madman, too, and hope to listen to him more. :)
