Powerful writing, Victor! I especially liked "We’ll write the cost of sacrifice on an eagle and set it free."

I would like to picture in my head the faces commanding those boots, but I can't, because having watched the Cow and Chicken cartoon, it cancels my effort with sweet, passive memories of childhood. Mesmerizing psychological story, Victor. You are dangerous.

Yes, Cow & Chicken will do that... thanks for checking it out and for commenting, Igga. Much appreciated. And I'll take dangerous as a great compliment....:)

Hola Víctor, esta historia me parece una metáfora del asesinato de las creencias mundanas para luego dejar vivir la esencia espiritual del hombre. Me gustó!

So, Jesus and Mary, but in an altered form which somehow makes the New Testament seem like a fictionalized account. And sparkles of a grim hilarity-- son of no man, a simple meal with apple pie, suck prison from your mouth! And with a slight taste of the upcoming election. Really good.

I'm not sure how to interpret this but the writing is beautiful and heartbreaking and I am always caught-up in the flow with you, Victor. So many quotable lines but this one struck me: "He had shattered all his mirrors and couldn’t see what he had become, mere dust that formed the shape of a man."

Thank you, Jim. As I've said before, in my view, there is no single interpretation. My desire is put things out there, hopefully not too obscure, and just let folks interpret as they will. That's the best part for me, is others seeing it differently than me. And sometimes, I'm not even too sure myself. It kinda just happens and I go with it.

Really appreciate you reading and commenting. Thanks again....

Yikes, Victor. A mother's biggest sacrifice - destroy her creation for the greater good? Could a mother do that? What a choice to have to make. This phrase hit me... "a quest for more power and ignorance." That line is not fiction. Powerful stuff.

There's a lot of this that isn't fiction although I've got to add "in my opinion" because I'm sure there's folks who see it differently, which makes the world around (okay, sometimes in weird wobbles)

Would a mother do it? You pose a good question. Thanks for reading and for commenting, Sharron. All the best - Victor

Quite a study of a mother's unconditional love and hope and support married with an absence of a positive role model. It is at once unflinching, surprising, and devastating. Another fine piece of creative fiction, Victor.

Thank you, Mike. Appreciate you reading and commenting. I do kinda think I should stick to themes that aren't related to a particular moment in time as it seems so much changed in the last few days with our ups and downs and sideways turning. Riders on the storm indeed....Thanks again!

Nah. Perfect timing, Victor. And, sadly, timeless. It circles back in some form eternally. A flaw in our species.
