Incredible work, Victor. You balance grace and brutality like really no one else I know. Work like this is really important right now. I think art is the only thing which will get us through it this period, this time we are in now. Thank you for being a part of it. It's inspiring, encouraging and comforting to read your work. I know this will sound strange, but for me this piece is like some cozy blanket in a winter storm. Everyone else is losing their minds out in the blizzard, but I am at home in bed, comforted by the wild tales told by another soul who also sees things in a way that is quite similar to my own view. Bravo.
Thanks Greg. Really appreciate your beautiful and thoughtful comments. I do indeed try for a balance, although I guess it's more like it just happens that way. I tend to see the world through eyes that both weep and laugh.
I'm glad you find comfort. Me, too. I know what you mean. Thanks again, and stay out of the blizzard....
"She had been assigned to her post by a committee of assassins who promised her freedom from their hit lists if she would just stick to the script." Good God.
The fluent juggling of language and tropes is remarkable. The surrealist stance seems to offer a place a half-step out of our current horror while still keeping it in plain sight.
This one reminds me of a time I may have lived in, but I can't really recall. In any even, thanks for this stirring account of a world gone mad. Thankfully, this kind of thing could never happen in the real world. Yes, thank god for that.
Yes, as Sinclair Lewis said ninety years ago, it can't happen here. No, indeed. Thanks for checking it out Mike and for your comment. Always good to hear from you.
I won’t reiterate what’s already been said in this comment section, but I have to say—I love how your writing, though surreal and sometimes dark, still feels oddly comforting. Like sinking into an old LazyBoy… until a loose spring suddenly jabs you in the backside.
Thank you, Stefan. I'm glad you enjoy the furniture, loose springs and all. I know I have fun writing, letting the wires jab. Much appreciate you reading and commenting - and coffee.

Good god, indeed... Thanks for checking it out, Sharron. Much appreciated!

Yep, half a step or so out of our current. Thanks for your lovely comment, Peter. Glad you enjoyed it.
This is intense and scary
Hi Sarah, thanks for reading. It's supposed to be intense so I guess it worked. :) Thanks again!

Mythical writing in scope and symbolism, Victor.
Thanks KC. I had fun with it...glad you enjoyed it.
A world upside down… Remarkable writing Victor! I’ve missed you and your insightful stories.
Upside down alright :) Thanks for the kind words, Rachel. And yes, I've been laying low. Happens that way sometimes.
